Degenerative Disc Disease, Plus Size People, Two-sided firm mattress & latex foam topper‏

Hi. My husband and I are "plus size people". He is 6'1" and weighs 255 lbs. I am 5'1" and weigh 200 lbs. He has been diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease and bone spurs. We both have constant tension in our backs. He suffers with pain everyday. We currently have a Sleep Number bed (p5) that we have been sleeping on for the last 3 years. What do you think would be a good bed for us? Thanks for your help! Michele

Hi Michele,
A large man with Degenerative Disc Disease requires a firm mattress that will remain firm over many years. In addition, you will also need a comfortable sleeping surface that will also retain its comfort over the long term. The problem with most of today's mattresses is that they aren't made well...not like they had been only a dozen years ago. Today, they are made to be replaced frequently.
For people who suffer from disc problems, this reduction in quality is simply unacceptable.
We carry a line of high quality two-sided mattresses that will work for the two of you. The lesser expensive Cameo firm model is what I have in mind.
This will help hold his discs in place and do so for many years. Add to it a 2" latex foam mattress topper for the surface comfort you'll need to relieve pressure points and relax muscles.
Together, they are everything your bodies need to sleep well and with a minimum of pain. What's more, they will do that job for a good number of years.
Here are links to those items.
