Hello!
Found you online and thought maybe you could help. My wife's old mattress (that our daughter inherited after we married) is a Stress-O-Pedic Chiro Elite. It's pretty darn soft, with coils inside. Our current mattress has turned out to be a disaster for both of us, too...(English Meadows-Luxury Firm-Euro-Pillowtop).
We're both side/back sleepers and there's a whole lot of tossing and turning and back pain every morning. How is it possible for a mattress to feel so hard and yet sag so much at the same time?? She's desperate to find another basic mattress like the Chiro Elite, but I worry she'll love it and it will be too soft for me. We're both thin, healthy people who do a lot of lifting and standing for long hours at work. We need some sleep! Any suggestions on styles (and toppers) that might suit us from your site? Thanks.
Jud
Hello Jud,
Once the padding compresses, you're left with the firm support...which is why a worn mattress feels hard. You simply can't buy a mattress based solely on initial comfort.
Of all the foams used, only latex does a long term job of providing comfort.
Your solution is a medium to firm mattress with a soft latex topper.
What we use at home is a Simmons Beautyrest Black Series Ava in luxury firm with a 2" soft Talalay latex foam mattress topper.
The combination provides all the long term comfort your wife wants, without sacrificing the support you both need.
Here are links to both products, where you can view them. Delivery is free and there's no sales tax.
