A no-sag two-sided mattress for Herniated discs.

I'm a very active professional, 5'5 140lbs, with a sports-related herniated L4 and L5, and my current, super saggy memory foam mattress just isn't cutting it any more. 
In the past, pillow top mattresses, latex (?) memory foam toppers, soft mattresses, and big mattress dip/sag have amped up the radiating pain and generally cause poor sleep hygiene along with crazy back stiffness.
Because there are so many options, and because I live in San Francisco, CA, I really need your help in suggesting an awesome, firm, life-giving mattress that sags minimally. Please advise.

Well, it sounds like you don't want to fool around with any of the mattresses that don't work. So, we'll just cut to the chase.
Memory foam and pillowtops are what the industry and the salesmen at the mattress stores push. Neither work for very long...all ending up with ditches in them.
This is very bad for anyone and especially painful for someone with herniated discs.
Your mattress needs to be firm with a comfortable sleeping surface, and it needs to stay that way...not for a year, but for a decade, if you have any expectations of getting your money's worth, along with a good night's sleep...year after year.
The foams most commonly used to soften the surface of a mattress is cheap, low density poly foam and memory foam. Neither work well beyond the "seducing you to buy" stage. They start to lose their shape within months. Unfortunately, you and everyone else, will hang on to these poorly constructed mattresses much longer, which causes back pain.
