My husband and I recently purchased a Tempurpedic with a pillow top (I wanted to try tempurpedic for my bad knees but he likes a luxurious feeling mattress).
We're having buyers remorse b/c we're hot and wake up like furnaces, even though it supposedly has cooling gel.
We like the feel of latex, too. Do you have a recommendation? Will latex be just as hot?
I also want a mattress that is resistant to mites, etc. But, do you accomplish mite-resistance by having the right mattress pad? I'm totally overwhelmed by this process!

Latex is the antithesis of memory foam. Latex does not sleep hot.
Your memory foam mattress is made of 61 different chemicals...some toxic and some carcinogenic. Latex is natural foam rubber.
Natural latex is 70% natural and 30% synthetic, using no toxic chemicals.
All-Natural latex is 100% natural and uses no chemicals.
Both are mold, mildew and mite resistant. The 'mite' is an unnecessary concern. Mites are everywhere. They feed off of dead skin cells and collect on the surface.
Latex is a hostile environment for them, so they do not get in and breed...as they did in older mattresses made of horse hair and cotton batting.
To effectively control the mite population, launder your linens frequently and vacuum the surface of you mattress while the bed is striped.
Also, latex lasts for many years, doing a great job of providing support, and comfort. Memory foam loses what little support it provides within a year's time.
Besides being dangerous, it doesn't work well for long. Adding insult to injury, it's a complete waste of money.
