Hi Marilyn,

Unfortunately, it's par for the course. High end models, like the Silver Dream, have a lot of padding...designed to offer a luxurious feel. The mattress industry has become fond of promoting mattresses like the Silver Dream and plush pillowtops in general, to exploit the American consumer's propensity for indulging their sense of luxury. 

The end result is the same as yours. All that extra soft poly foams and memory foams used to achieve that feel, lose their shape quickly. Most people will simply buy a new mattress, rather than initiate a warranty claim. This is a real boon for the mattress manufacturer's who are selling more mattresses than ever before.

When you spend all that money for a high end mattress, you assume quality that isn't there, by and large. An all latex mattress will provide a similarly luxurious feel. But, latex is far more resilient than poly or memory foam...so, at least, it will last a lot longer, giving you your money's worth.

If you can, get that mattress exchanged for an all latex mattress. You'll have to check with your retailer as to what he has available.
