Hi Pete,
My fiance and I are just back from a weekend on Orcas Island in the San Juans, in Washington State, where we had the best sleep of our lives
the hotel had a "King Koil, Contract Division, Posture Bond Hotel Classic" which was a "no topper", on top of which they had put 3 inches of yellow camping foam.
You know, the kind you get at the lumber store.
The lady at the front desk said that they had done the foam themselves because too many people had complained about the mattresses being too hard.
And having stayed there for several years in a row, I remember how hard that mattress was pre foam.
He: 6'1", 195 lbs, side sleeper, sometimes on my back, and I usually move around a lot. On Orcas, I slept "black out" no movement for 6 hours solid all 3 nights.
She: 5'8", 140 lbs, starts on her side, and usually winds up on her back. She also slept blacked out for 6-7 hours all 3 nights.
Since neither of us sleep very well on what each of us has at the moment, can you make a recommendation in your line up, for a Simmons and topper combination soft/medium/firm,  that might get us that same sleep.
While I'm of course interested in longevity and value, getting that great rest would be the best value of all.
Having also read many of the questions on your site, and looked a bit on line, could you also connect your recommendation to whatever model might be carried at wherever (Macys, Sears etc, ) so that we could go in and put hands and bodies on the bed before we buy sight unseen?
