Looking for a Simmons Beautyrest Pemberton Mattress

Hello,
Was reading your blog after trying out beds at Macy's.
I have been sleeping for many years on a queen SERTA PREMIUM SLEEPER UNIVERSE.  (Do you remember it?)  I weight about 122-125, depending on the week, and my husband weighs about 170-180.  We are not uncomfortable and it hasn't sagged badly, just a little, despite its age.  In its day, it seemed perfect and still somehow does the job.  We want to replace it though, so we'll both wake up with no achiness.
My sister loves her 2-year old Simmons Beautyrest Pemberton tight top, so I was thinking of trying something similar, but of course it no longer exists with that name.  Macy's said it is now the Palms Springs Firm.  Given what we liked in the past,would this be a good choice, or what would you recommend?  I don't want to spend a fortune, but don't need to get the cheapest.  I'd rather get something that feels supportive, supports the lower back, and lasts, so I can again keep it a long time!  After learning that it was the low end of Beautyrest, I thought that perhaps I should go up a level or try Sterns and Foster.  I really don't want a huge mattress and definitely not pillowtop or soft and would consider a double-side one, if one would be appropriate.

The Pemberton was the starting model Classic Beautyrest. And while the names have changed since then, the bed has remained the same.

Another thing to consider, since your mattress is still good, just not comfortable, is a 2" soft layer of Talalay latex added to what you have. Mattresses made more than 10 years ago, were better made than they are today.
Adding a layer of latex, not only provides long lasting comfort, but will extend the life of the mattress you have, which is still providing good support. It's a much more reasonably priced alternative to buying new...and often times with better long term results. Here is the link to the latex toppers.
