Also, what do you use for fire retardant and, if present, water repellent chemicals? Do you do any third party testing to measure arsenic and antimony levels in your mattresses from the flame retardant? Do you offer any options without flame retardants?

Hi Lisa,
The flame retardant backing to the fabric is there by law. All US made mattresses must have it. For all the mattresses we carry, it's a non-chemical backing, as opposed to a chemical treatment of the fabric.
We do no third party testing, as we are just a humble retailer.
The only danger is if the mattress was to be exposed to flames. At that point, the fumes from the backing would be dangerous. But at that point, you have more pressing problems.
The Energy Foam, used to support the coils, is polyethylene. The foam encasement is polyurethane.
We also carry some All Natural Latex with a wool layer as a natural flame retardant. These mattresses are also 100% Organic...is you are looking for the best with zero chemicals.
