Hi Alice,
There is more than one way to get ripped off, when buying a mattress.
The allure from the luxurious feel of a high end mattress is one of them. They lose their shape, much too quickly.
And, the model names for the same mattress will be different at every store. This allows retailers to over price mattresses without worry that you'll be able to show it.
The first store you think to go to will be among the most expensive. Large chains do a tremendous amount of advertising, which is very expensive. That advertising budget is made back by over charging for the mattress.
You've heard them tell you that they have the lowest prices "Guaranteed" so frequently, that many people don't think to question it. You've heard it so frequently, that you accept it as true. However, the only source of that information is from them.
I'm sending you a link to the best regular production mattress on the market. It has a nice balance of comfort and support.

Hi there,
I am in the market for a new mattress and have just found your website, and am hoping for some advice! We have actually needed a new mattress for several years but have basically avoided the issue as we just don't know what to buy. I have always heard there is such a markup on mattress, and I have just never really known if the money for the high end mattress are worth it. I am willing to spend what I need but don't want to be ripped off. :)
I have recently begin having shoulder pain that I originally thought was from sleeping in one position too long. I don't recall injuring it but had been doing a lot of upper body activity, so assumed it was from that. Now my other shoulder has started to hurt, and I haven't done anything to injure it, so after reading about pains caused from different mattresses, however, now I wonder if this is the cause, or is making it worse.
What type of mattress would you recommend? My husband is average size and weight, I am heavy. We do not have any major issues, but some back aches and now my shoulder(s).
Thank you for your help!
Alice
