Stearns & Foster Michaela Mattress is too firm for us. What to do?

Dear Pete,
My husband and I recently bought a king size Stearns and Foster Michaela Eurotop mattress.  We are both lighter weight (130 and 140 lbs).
Our previous queen size mattress was a combination pocket coil and 2" natural latex and 1" latex topper. I am a side sleeper and slept well on the natural latex. My husband moves around a lot and the latex also performed well for motion control  However, we bought the Stearns and Foster because my husband could not sleep well on his back on the natural latex.  He says the padding on S&F Michaela mattress feels better on his lower back. 
I find that the pillow top on the new mattress at first feels fine, but wake later in the night with arm numbness and back and neck pain. In addition I find the Michaela mattress has less motion separation compared to our queen latex mattress.  
We are still in the comfort exchange period and I am interested in your advice on what we might consider for an exchange.  They have a version of the Michaela without pillowtop, also a more expensive style called the Luann which has something called Caress Flex Foam, Memory Foam and Smart latex and is available without pillowtop.  I could add a 2" latex topper to either of those.  Another option is the Sleep Options 11" plush latex foam.  
We like the plush feel and because we are relatively light weight, may not need as firm a mattress.  Could his lower back comfort be improved by adding a topper to the latex mattress? 
I appreciate any recommendations you can provide.

 Hi Jennifer,
Normally, that store has an exchange and restocking fee. Why not simply buy a soft latex topper for the mattress you have. You'll increase the comfort and the motion separation at the same time.
It seems to me, to be the most efficient and cost effective way of getting what you want. Here's the link to the latex toppers.
