Hi John,
I have no reports of ill affects from synthetic latex. There are no toxic or petro-chemicals used to make it. It is certified as safe...safe to touch, safe to breathe, safe to ingest.
However, if you're worried about it, it would be prudent to stick with 100% natural latex.
