Best Mattress for Lower Back Pain

My husband has constant lower back pain and our current mattress is not helping. He has had 2 back surgeries in the past 3 years. He has degenerative disk disease in his L4 and L5 and a herniated disk in his L1 along with sciatica. He sleeps on his back and sometimes side - whatever he can tolerate. He wakes up in the morning and can barely move because of the pain. He is 40 years old, 5'10 and weighs 225 lbs. I am a side sleeper and can pretty much sleep anywhere. We would like to get a king mattress but are not sure what mattress would be best for my husband's back problems. Erin 


Hi Erin,
You will use a 2" soft latex topper on a reasonably firm mattress.
