Asthma, a natural latex mattress

I am looking at the Cathryn Steams and Foster mattress and base
I am concerned because I am allergic to polyurethene and latex  Would this affect my asthma????
What am I sleeping directly on?

Hi Zonell,
You'll want to understand your allergies before proceeding.
I just had blood work done. There was a sign in the office about letting them know if you have a latex allergy.
Unlike latex gloves and such, the process that produces latex foam removes the allergens from the finished product.
While you may be allergic to latex in products like latex gloves, you are unlikely to be allergic to latex foam.
With the allergen removed, latex is 100% natural.
That said, the latex used by Stearns & Foster is 100% synthetic. It's hard to say if you will react to what is in synthetic latex, but it wouldn't be the allergen you find in latex, as it was never present is synthetic latex.
Polyurethane is another story. It is in every mattress that Sealy, Stearns & Foster, Simmons and Serta makes. In fact, the only way to avoid poly foam is with an all-natural latex mattress.
You didn't even mention the worst offender, memory foam. Memory foam is quite toxic and will certainly kick you asthma into high gear.
