A latex topper for a sagging Serta Mattress

Hi Pete,
My husband and I are having trouble getting a good night's rest. We've gone through several mattresses in the past few years and are frustrated at finding the right "fit" for both of us. I am 5'6" 120 lbs and my husband is 6' 190 lbs. He has a herniated disk and needs a firm mattress. I am a side/back sleeper and wake up with shoulder/hip pain. When either of us tosses and turns, we wake the other up. Our current mattress is a Serta, model #433062--370. It is starting to sag. Should we replace it or try a latex topper first? If we were to purchase a new mattress, what do you recommend?
Thank you, Margaret

Hi Margaret,
A sagging Serta won't be made right with a topper, of any type.
The problems you face are the most common....and, there is a solution that has been applied to this problem with continued success for the past several years.
He needs for support and you need a pliable sleeping surface. The problem with today's mattresses is that you can't have both. You are always sacrificing one for the other.
The solution is a combination sleep system of a firm mattress and a soft latex topper. It provides all the pressure point relief you need, without sacrificing the support he needs....and do that job for both of you over many years.
The latex topper and an individually pocketed coil system will also reduce motion transfer by quite a lot.
Here are links to the mattress and topper that are the most popular combination.
