What kind of mattress do we need? Therapedic Medi-Coil Permatuft two-sided mattresses

I am 6'8" and weigh 375 lbs. My wife is 5'11" and weighs about 275. She is bedridden but not immobile. We need a suggestion for a mattress basically for her that will not "crush" easily. I sleep in a separate room as I work nights but sometimes I sleep with her in her bed. We both sleep on queen-size mattresses at the moment. A king-size is out of the question due to room size. I have followed your blog and am impressed by your knowledge and the way you help people.
Thanks for any help you can give us. Ed

Hi Ed,
There are no regular production line mattresses made that will do that kind of job for longer than a few months. So, we had them made. They are made to my specifications, using the highest density material available. The mattress is then fully tufted for greater stability and will hold a 500 pound person for many years.

You might consider adding 2" of soft latex to the surface for pressure point relief...an important addition for someone who is bed ridden.
