Dear Peter,
I wanted to buy a mattress for my daughter today, but the Stearns & Foster options at Macys are just too much and service was lacking knowledge. My daughter is 31 and her 2 kids, age 2 and 3 like to join the bed here and there. She likes it somewhat firm, but not hard, she likes to feel supported, not lumpy and soft, her weight is only 135...Which Queen mattress would you highly recommend from Sterns and Foster, in the $1200-$1500 range? Is there a recommended latex version or would you rather recommend a latex separate Top? My husband and I have a Sealy Venice which we still absolutely love...We are looking for quality at a reasonable or at least fair price. My daughter doesn't like a mattress with chemicals that could harm...Thank you for your advice! Rita
Hi Rita,
The starting model in the Stearns & Foster line is a best buy at $1259 for a queen set.
To add a latex topper that won't change the firmish feel of the mattress, but provide the comfort and durability of latex, add a 1.5" Dunlop. To soften the surface, add a 1.5" to 2" soft Talalay latex topper.
