Simmons Beautyrest Black Desiree plush firm queen mattress‏

I purchased (from you) a simmons beautyrest black desiree plush firm queen mattress w/ boxspring on 3/5/12 and delivery was on 3/21/12.
I am the only one who sleeps in this bed. I've read the warranty and noticed it states that it doesn't cover normal body impressions of 1 1/2' or less. Right now it's at the 1 1/2' level. I needed a firm mattress that would keep it's firmness longer than a year…much more like 10 yrs. Maybe I'm asking for too much. LOL I'm disappointed right now with the lack of firmness that this mattress has. I've had to switch from laying on the left side of the bed to the right side. Should I be turning this mattress over to obtain the firmness I'm looking for?

Hi Janice,
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty.
Since your sustained impression has reached 1.5", simply call Lygia at the main office Monday
morning to initiate a warranty claim.
Once you have authorization to exchange, opt for the "Luxury Firm" instead of the "Plush/Firm" you
have now. It's an option that wasn't available a year ago.
Another choice would be the Extra Firm.
In the meantime, you can flip your mattress over, but I'm afraid the underside may be too firm...
...but certainly worth a try, especially since it doesn't cost anything.

My wife and I have the Black Ansleigh in plush/firm. (the more recent model to the Desiree)
We are large people and have had this mattress since October. So far, so good.

A warranty claim requires an inspection. The inspector will make an appointment with you to
come and look at your mattress. On the day of your scheduled inspection, make sure your
mattress is right side up. And, since your impression is at border line depth, place a heavy
rounded object, like a bowling ball, on the indented part of the mattress, the morning of your
inspection. Be sure to take it off before answering the door. You don't want to let him see that.

Before calling the main office, check your mattress for any stains. A stain of any type, anywhere
on the mattress will void the warranty. If you have a stain and can clean it, do so.
If you have a stain and can't get it clean, you might as well not bother calling. A stain will be noted
on the inspector's report to the factory and no authorization for exchange will be given.

Certainly, you should expect more than a year. 10 years is unrealistic in today's market.
The only way to get that kind of longevity is by adding a latex topper to your mattress.
Latex is extremely resilient. It absorbs much of your body weight, leave less work for the mattress.
It's what we do at home...all my family and friends have one and we have sold thousands of them
for this purpose. It's the only thing that works for comfort and the value of a 10 year life span.

Thanks, Pete
