The model numbers are different for every store, so I can't tell that way. The smell could be coming from the foam not being properly cured. It isn't a normal occurrence, but it does happen from time to time. Call the store where you got it and let them know about the smell and the height. It is short for that model. Have them order you a new one fresh from the factory.
