Our New Stearns and Foster Mattress Smells Terrible…like a Sewer.

Hi TME,

Thanks again for all the great feedback I’ve found on your website and blog.

We just purchase a new Stearns & Foster mattress and it has a terrible odor, smelling like sewer gas.

Is this normal, as I have been told by the salesman who sold it to me?

If this is normal what can I do to get rid of the odor?

Thanks, Joe

Hi Joe,

The toxic chemical off gassing coming from your mattress is normal for most mattresses made with memory foam…because of the 61 different chemicals

used to make it.

Since you can buy mattresses without introducing dangerous, sickening toxins into your home for everyone to breathe, it’s not acceptable.

Many people shop for “name brands”, remembering a day when they were quality products. What is often not realized is that those days are long gone.

They’ve all been sold to investors who care nothing about quality or you…just profits. Stearns & Foster is now owned by Tempurpedic.

Not only will your new mattress make you sick, it will begin to wear within months and need replacing within a couple/few years, depending on your body weight.

The diabolical part of memory foam is that replacement will not be had under the terms of the warranty. Memory foam is, by far, the absolute worst upholstery material ever invented.

My advice is to return it for a refund and shop for a mattress with NO Memory Foam in it.

You can start on our website.

NONE of the mattresses promoted on our website has any memory foam in them!

Thanks, TME
