We had a Sealy Posturepedic mattress for many years.
So when we needed to replace it, we purchased a Sealy Posturepedic plush pillowtop king size mattress in 2024, which we found it very comfortable at first.
Recently, my wife and I have been feeling that the bed isn't giving our backs the same support it did at first.
The mattress was inspected, but wasn’t found to be defective, so we are thinking about buying a new mattress.
We have been looking at a Simmons Beautyrest Pillowtop on a great 1/2 price sale.
We found it quite comfortable when test lying on it in the store for about 2 minutes. But since it is still quite expensive, my wife is afraid that it may compress quickly and lose the support (after reading the complains in your blog).

You purchased that mattress based on an assumption that the quality would be the same as your previous mattress.
What you aren’t aware of is that Sealy had been sold. Simmons is getting bad reviews because they too have been sold.
The problem is the same with both.
The upholstery material they now use is memory foam, which is purposefully designed to need frequent replacing, but not under the terms of the warranty.
It’s the memory foam you’re sinking into and what is causing the feeling of lack of support.
The same problem has befallen Serta and S&F.
Also, 1/2 price sales are often not what they seem….50% off an inflated price is what you’re looking at.
