Hi Pete,
I want to share my experience with a Stearns and Foster mattress.
After getting this mattress I went online and found your blog.
Now, I know why it’s so bad.
I admit, I was attracted to the TV ad, featuring a beauty mattress.
My wife wanted us to go and try it. It felt wonderful at the store.
I paid over $4,000 for this mattress and it's just AWFUL.
While very comfortable at first, it's now so uncomfortable and already shows sinking in spots after only a few months.
I called the store, where I bought it to register a complaint.
They sent someone to inspect it, only to tell me there's nothing wrong with it.
STAY AWAY from Stearns and Foster Mattresses.
Thanks, George
Hi George,
For the sake of our readers, I'll share what you learned from our blog.
For those who have had S&F mattresses, in the past, the natural assumption is that they are what to buy now.
In 2013, Sealy and S&F were purchased by Tempur-Pedic.
As of January of 2014, everything made with a S&F label is upholstered with memory foam.
Despite all the hype to the contrary, memory foam is the absolute worst upholstery material ever invented.
Its sole purpose is to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
So over night, S&F went from being the Cadillac of the Industry to nothing more than expensive junk.
Also, the more you spend, the worse it gets.
$4000 will usually get you more fluff...and a quicker death.
(“More sizzle than steak”, as they used to say in the old days)
You, simply, don't need to spend that kind of money to get a great night's sleep.
We had been a Sealy/S&F dealer for many years, prior to them being sold to Tempur-Pedic.
Check out our website for the mattresses that we sell...all very long lasting. And not one is upholstered with Memory Foam.
