I have severe back pain related to my scoliosis when I lie down on pretty much any mattress except my parents' 25 year old Simmons Beautyrest Fleetwood Plush mattress, which has been discontinued.
Can you recommend a mattress that feels as similar as possible to this?

Good Morning Charlie,What your 25 year old Beautyrest had was an individually pocketed coil system.
This provided an independent suspension with pushback support that maintained the natural alignment of your spine.
The upholstery was poly foam or a poly/latex combination.
What your old mattress didn’t have was memory foam, which I’m sorry to say is used by every major brand today.
Memory foam allows your torso to sink, which throws off your spine’s alignment.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe that it is one-sided because I don't think my parents have flipped it in a long time if at all.
I would prefer whatever mattress would be most comfortable for my spine, whether that is one-sided or two-sided.
My height and weight are 4'9 and 120 lb.
My husband is 5'9 and 170 lb.
My scoliosis is a moderate s-shaped curve with both side to side and front to back components.

Since you don’t have a preference about one or two sided, I recommend a one sided mattress. It would be difficult to flip a mattress considering your back.
