Hi Kevin,
I think you'll find an improvement with any new mattress.
I'd bet that you've kept that mattress longer than you should have.
Generally, your body requires some degree of firm support with enough padding to allow you to sleep deeply.
This would mean a "medium" feeling mattress...not too firm or too soft.
You also have to consider body weight.
A heavier person should start off with something on the firmer sider...for support and durability, keeping in miind that you can always soften the surface if necessary.
However, this is not an issue for you at your height and weight.
