Hi Pete,
I found your blog very informative.
I’m shopping for a firm all latex mattress.. firm but not hard. Durability and shape retention are important.
I had an all latex mattress years ago.
I slept great and it remained like new for many years.
Could you recommend a couple of latex mattresses.
Thank you, Steven
Hi Steven,
These days, you have to be careful when shopping for a latex mattress. Many mattresses that are sold as all natural latex, use clay as a filler… common among latex that’s processed in China.
While all natural, they’re not PURE latex.
The clay cheapens the product, resulting in lower prices and a much shorter lifespan.
Pure latex is a much better value because it lasts so much longer.
It actually costs less in the long run.
And as you pointed out, it’s a great night’s sleep.
We carry a very nice selection of all latex mattresses.
We even have an old fashioned 2 sided flippable model.
Here are some links to our most popular, pure, organic and hypoallergenic latex mattresses:
Caveat: an all foam mattress, even latex, is not recommended for those suffering with disc related back problems.
A pocketed coil with latex upholstery is best for this.
The most popular of them, shown here:
