Floor Sample Mattress Sinking In and Causing Pain.

Hi Pete,

I went to a local mattress store bought a floor sample close out.

It was a great deal, I thought. It was 70% off.

It felt perfectly fine and I was thrilled to save all that money.

Within only days, DAYS mind you, I’m sinking into this mattress, not sleeping well and waking up in pain.

I called the store and they said that floor samples are sold AS-IS.

This mattress had no warranty of any kind. 

I feel like I got screwed.

What can I do about this now?

“Floor Samples” don’t behave as yours has.

What you bought is a mattress that someone else used and returned.

Store comfort guarantees produce returns that can’t go back to the factory for credit. Instead of throwing them away, they’re put on the showroom floor and sold off at deep discounts and sold as floor samples close outs.

I do believe that selling a used mattress is illegal, which doesn’t seem to be a deterrent for most stores.

The question is, what to do about it now.

Assuming that you aren’t going to get a lawyer to deal with this, the first thing to do is flip the mattress over, which is too firm to sleep on comfortably.
