Marriott Hotel Sealy Posturepedic Artesia Mattress Equivalent.

Hi Pete,

I read an article on the web and your name and email came up. 

I'm a long time Marriott Hotel customer and slept on a Sealy Posturepedic Artesia HD mattress. Since then, I've ordered from the Shop Marriott website with a nice discounted price due to my elevated Bonvoy membership. As they delivered the mattress, we found out it was the newer version of Artesia HD, the 2.0, in which was much softer than the original Artesia HD mattress. Shop Marriott accepted the return and now I'm looking for an equivalent mattress to the Artesia HD version, not the 2.0 version.

What's your suggestion? 

I appreciate your assistance in finding a good supportive and firm mattress for my rest at night.

Good Morning Cris,

The 2.0 version is upholstered with memory foam, where their original Artesia was upholstered with polyurethane foam…which didn’t give you that “sinking in” feeling. The coils are individually pocketed, which provides proper spinal alignment…a benefit negated by the memory foam.


An “exact equivalent” isn’t possible. 

However a mattress with that same coil system, upholstered with pure, organic latex foam will be very similar.

Latex is a material that polyurethane was invented to mimic, which also won’t allow you to sink.
