We’ve Spent Thousands of Dollars for Sleepless Nights.

Hi Pete,

My husband is 6'2', 210 lbs. I'm 5'5', 150 lbs. He needs a firmer mattress than I do, and we've spent thousands of dollars and lots of sleepless nights in the last 10 years, buying mattress after mattress that we can't use. We thought investing in the Select Comfort system would be the answer...he would have it very firm, I could go softer. Nope. It still has the body impression problems, and my husband is in great back pain. We have also tried Kingsdown, a local mattress dealer's in-house brand...what should we try next?

Thanks, Ann

Hi Ann,

Kingsdown, is a limited distribution company…which is why it seemed like your retailer’s in-house brand.

They are available nationwide, but only through one retailer in each marketplace.

Everybody needs some degree of firm support and some degree of surface comfort.

You can achieve a happy balance for both of you with a mattress on the firmer side and a latex topper to soften the surface.

My recommendation comes in two parts.

The PlushBeds Luxury Bliss Mattress in Medium Firm, and a Latex for Less 2”Soft Pure, Organic and Hypoallergenic Latex Topper.

The mattress uses an individually pocketed coil system which maintains the natural alignment of the body and spine.

The latex topper provides additional surface comfort that creates the feeling that you’re floating. He’ll enjoy that, as well.
