Tempur-Pedic Mattress Hurts My back. Add a Latex Topper?

I have a Tempur-Pedic mattress that I'm not able to sleep on. It hurts my back.
I am a heavy gal, over 300 lbs. and I sink into it and have difficulty turning over.  
Would adding a latex topper on the mattress neutralize the memory foam in the pillow top?
Will it make that mattress more comfortable ?
And if so, which latex topper do you recommend?

Hi Linda,
Yes. We've done that with Tempur-pedic owners for years.
The best way to do this, is to first, flip the mattress, then add the latex topper.
The underside of the mattress is high density poly foam, and much firmer than the memory foam.
The mattress will then provide firmer support for you back.
The latex topper provides the surface comfort for a deep night's sleep.
Latex is not temperature sensitive, as is memory foam. 
Latex sleeps cool and allows you to change position easily.
