A Mattress for my Husband Weighing 300 Pounds.

Hi Pete,

I've been told by a salesperson to get the Simmons Beautyrest Black mattress for us, with my husband weighing 300 pounds.
Your blog advises me that this mattress will not last for very long, due to the memory foam upholstery.
Now, I'm more confused than ever.
Please recommend a mattress that will work.
Thanks, Lynn
Hi Lynn,
My recommendation comes in two parts.
A mattress strong enough to to wear well under your husband's weight and a topper to make that mattress comfortable enough for you.
The old Bonnell coil system has been the strongest type of support for the last 100 years.
Today, it's hard to find a mattress made with those coils. And, you need to avoid memory foam upholstery.
The Wolf Adrian Mattress has that coil unit and NO Memory Foam.

This mattress is on the firm side, without much padding, which isn't comfortable enough for a female body.
Add to that mattress a Natura 2" Plush Talalay Latex Mattress Topper.

This sleep system combination will provide the support, comfort and longevity you're looking for.
The foundation that we sell with that, is extremely strong and also recommended.
Shipping is Free.
Thanks, Pete

Using an old box spring to support any new mattress will cause premature wear and void the manufacturer’s warranty.
A waterproof mattress protector will extend the life of a mattress by keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry.
