A mattress for a very large guy, 6’4” 450+ pounds.

Hey Pete,

I’m looking for a mattress for a very large guy, 6’4” 450+, and my wife is 5’4", 200 lbs.
We have a Simmons Beautyrest that we got less than 2 years ago, and it has completely broken down.
And, we are still paying on it. The warranty claim was denied due to soiling.
This mattress is causing us both back, hip and neck pains.
The side stitching has come apart, and literally have to stuff it back into the mattress.
What would be a good mattress we could get that will stand up?
Need help, please.
Thanks, Joe
Good Morning Joe,
There isn't a name brand mattress, made today, that will long withstand the weight of average size people...let alone, a man your size.
Brands that you once could rely upon for quality, have all been sold to investors who are now making high profit/low quality mattresses.
By trading on the reputations of those brand names, their mattress are sold under false pretenses.
The Wolf Adrian Mattress uses an old fashioned Bonnell Coils system.
The coils are large and made of heavy gauge steel. They are all linked together for strong, rigid support.
This type of coil system is and always has been best for supporting excessive body weight.
Alone, it is too firm for comfort.
Unlike the memory foam in your Beautyrest, Latex is far more resilient, providing long lasting comfort.
So, to that Wolf Adrian Mattress, you'll add a Suite Sleep Organic Latex Mattress Topper.
For a man your size, I recommend the 2" in Soft.
I'm sure you're painfully aware that upholstered products don't wear very well under your weight.
As the years go buy, you'll need to replace the latex topper....probably every 5 years...but not the mattress.
Not having to replace the mattress nearly as frequently is what makes this combination sleep system such a great value.
Here are links to both products.

Be sure to get a S+B Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector, to prevent soilage, and moisture from seeping into the upholstery layers. This enhances longevity and protects the manufacturer's warranty.

To relieve chronic neck pain, I recommend the Pure Talalay Bliss Shredded Talalay Latex Pillow, which you can fit around your head and neck like a down pillow, but won't flatten out like a down pillow...extremely long lasting.

Using an old box spring to support any new mattress will cause premature wear and void the manufacturer’s warranty.
A waterproof mattress protector will extend the life of a mattress by keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry.
