Hi Pete,

Can you tell me the gauge of wire used to make the coils?
Thanks, Carl
Hi Carl,
Since you asked about wire gauge, I can assume you know what it means.
It occurs to me, that you may or may not know.
So, here's what to know when inquiring about the coils in any mattress.
Wire gauges are fractional numbers.
i.e. a 14 gauge is 1/14 of an inch thick.
14 gauge is thicker than 15.
The smaller the number the thicker the wire.
Tempering of the steel, number of turns in the coil (1 turn for every inch of coil height being optimal), are also important factors in determining the durability of the support…along with coil count vs. coil density.
Many companies quote coil density, which is how many coils would be in the mattress if not for the space that the foam edge support is taking.
Coil count is the actual number of coils in the mattress.
Nearly all coil counts and coil densities are quoted in queen size.
Thanks, Pete
