It depends on how old your mattress is…and if it has a heavy border wire.
That border wire is what prevents a mattress from being used on an adjustable bed base.
This is why it’s no longer being used.
Stand at the foot of the mattress and lift.
If the mattress bends, it’ll work on the adjustable bed base.
If the mattress remains stiff as you lift it, then no.
Mattresses wear more quickly when used on an adjustable bed base.
Lift the head and the bulk of your body weight shifts from being evenly distributed to being concentrated to the point in your mattress, just under your butt.
It’s at that point where a body impression will form, and eventually become deep.
A “Plush” Beautyrest is made plush by using thinner steel to make the coils.
It’s the only brand that does this. Others brands make the upholstery softer.
So yes, your Beautyrest will wear significantly faster on an adjustable bed base…every time you raise the head.
