It’s one sided mattress and ridiculously heavy, being all natural latex.

Hi Lisa,
I have heard of that happening before, but it was always with a memory foam mattress.
Perspiration, usually promoted by memory foam, seeps into and through the mattress, then mold forms at the bottom.
You may be able to salvage what you have.
A peroxide or bleach solution will kill the mold.
A waterproof mattress protector will prevent that from reoccurring.
A waterproof mattress protector should be used with every mattress, as perspiration seeping into the mattress will break down the upholstery materials, causing the mattress to need replacing sooner than should be necessary.
