Hello Pete -
I recently purchased a natural latex mattress.
This mattress was advertised as not compressing, nor leaving a “body” indentation.
After sleeping on it for less than a month, I find it already has a body impression.
It feels like I have to “roll uphill” to turn over. This is with the “firm” side of a two-sided mattress.
Is this common with natural latex mattresses?
The reason I bought a new mattress in the first place was that my old one had such a deep body depression, that I felt like I was sleeping on a hillside!
I had expected to not have to deal with that, with this new latex one.
Do you know if your latex mattresses develop a body indentation?
Thanks, Norma
Hi Norma,
Unfortunately, many retailers, especially those on the west coast, are offering latex that’s imported from China.
China adds clay to the mix when processing, which cheapens the latex and ends up performing as yours has.
Clay is a natural material, so it’s sold as natural latex…with no mention of the clay.
Pure, high quality latex does not take a body impression…not for many years.
And even then, only slightly.
Nothing we sell is imported from China.
Here’s a link to the Natura of Canada all latex mattresses.
Click on each mattress to view specifications and prices.
You should see a marked difference in prices between these and what you spent....I'd be willing to bet.
These mattresses come with white glove delivery.
Delivery includes setup in your bedroom and removal of all packaging materials.
Delivery is free and there’s no sales tax. Thanks, Pete
VERY IMPORTANT:
Keeping your mattress clean and dry will increase its longevity.
We recommend our Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector.
