Hi Pete,
We desperately need to replace our mattress.
I wake up with a sore back every morning and I am convinced it is from our old mattress.
It's a Stearns and Foster, purchased in 2000.
I sleep like a baby and wake up feeling great on the mattress in my parent's guest room.
The tag says Simmons Beautyrest Hamlet Firm and was manufactured in 2008.
We are back and side sleepers.
Can you recommend a mattress equivalent to the 2008 Simmons that my parents have?

Hi Renee,
All of the name brands have been sold to investors.
All are now upholstered with memory foam, which was not used in the two mattresses you referenced.
There is no equivalent to either mattress on today’s market.
A successful purchase can only be had with a mattress with no memory foam.
Memory foam, contrary to all the advertising hype and sales pitches, is the worst upholstery material ever invented.
Memory foam is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing. It sleeps hot, wears quickly, and causes back pain.
And as if all that weren’t bad enough, memory foam off gasses the toxic chemicals from which it’s made. Two of the worst of the 61 different chemicals used are formaldehyde and benzene.
