What is the best mattress for someone with Parkinson’s Disease?

Trish writes:

Hi Pete,

My husband has Parkinson’s and finds it difficult to move around at night. He and I also have back pain.
We have an older Simmons Beautyrest mattress which we used to like.
We were thinking of buying a Tempurpedic mattress.
But I'm worried that it will be difficult to move around.
What is the best mattress for someone with Parkinson’s Disease?
Thanks, Trish

Hi Trish,
Any mattress upholstered with memory foam will make moving more difficult than it is now.
Memory foam is specifically designed to allow you to sink into it.

The Natura of Canada Greenspring mattresses use the same coil system as your old Simmons Beautyrest.
The support will be the same as you’ve been used to.
The coils are made of double tempered steel, so they are firm and strong.
The upholstery is latex, which is comfortable, but does not allow you to sink.
The Ultra Plush model is the most comfortable of their 4 models...without being too soft.
