Hi Brian,
Our only dispute is about the lion’s share of sheets, covers and blankets.
Of course, she gets the lion’s share while accusing me of the same....lol.
The king mattress has plenty of room.
Personally, I can’t justify the extra expense of the 2 twin-xls.
But then again, I’m not you. That is what you’ve been used to.
An argument for, is that it is much easier to rotate 2 twin xl mattresses than one king.
I have no recommendation for a center insert, but Bed Bath and Beyond should have what you want.
