Hi Pete,
Several years ago, I suffered a back injury.
Through much trial and error, I've found that sleeping on 3" firm latex topper is best to keep the pain under control.
Putting the topper directly on the floor or as part of a hybrid innerspring, either seems to work.
The problem is that even after just a month the latex softens enough that I don't get the same support and my injury flares up. I've managed to extend this to 3 months by cutting the topper into three pieces and rotating their positions on the bed. But I'm still replacing it 4 times a year.
Have you ever heard of anything like this?
Can you suggest any other material that won't soften the same way?
I'm a side sleeper if that matters.
Thanks in advance for any ideas,
JesseHi Jesse,
Not all latex is the same.
Pure, all natural latex is the most resilient...longest lasting.
Dunlop, a little more so than Talalay Latex.
Then there’s synthetic latex, which is not as durable.
There’s blended latex, 70% synthetic and 30% natural, which is better than all synthetic.
And finally, there’s the garbage latex that China produces....using clay as a filler.
This latex wears very quickly...and is easy to come by via many west coast retailers.
The other factor is body weight.
While latex, in general, is the most resilient upholstery material, it is a pressure sensitive product. How much weight is placed upon it will play a part in the longevity.
Here’s a link to the Suite Sleep Organic Latex Topper...100% Pure Dunlop.
No synthetics, no fillers...the best, most resilient latex on the planet.
It comes in 4 choices of comfort.
Shipping is free and there’s no sales tax. Thanks, Pete
