Hi Pete,
I'm looking for some information about my mattress.
It is a Stearns and Foster Denwick double sided pillow top.
I want to know what it is made of, because it is so comfortable.
I'm also wondering how old it is.
Thanks, Rita
Hi Rita,
The last thing you want to do is to waste your money on one of today’s S&F mattresses....assuming quality that no longer exists.
Stearns and Foster started making one-sided mattresses in 2003.
Yours must have been made prior to that.
The components consist of a coil unit and polyurethane foam upholstery.
When made, a white label was sown into one of the seams at the head of the mattress.
Printed on that label are: the date of manufacture and the contents of the mattress.
The grade of the mattress was determined by the first letter of the model name.
Yours was a “D” grade...a couple of grades up from their starting model.
S&F never made a low quality mattress.
Stearns and Foster had been considered “The Cadillac of the Industry” for many decades, until they were purchased by Tempurpedic in 2013.
Ever since January of 2014, S&F is nothing more than expensive junk.
Thanks, Pete
