We are in the market for a new king size mattress.
Last time we bought a mattress, from Macy's, the pillow top did not hold up.
I am a big man, 250 pounds and want a mattress that will serve me as a side sleeper with sleep apnea.
My wife is smaller. So, the Sleep Number Bed makes sense.
We both want the cooling feature available on so many mattresses on the market.
We don't need elevated head or feet, just a mattress that won't end up caving in where we sleep in many years.
What are your thoughts?

If longevity is your goal, Sleep Number makes no sense.
In fact, any mattress upholstered with memory foam will be short lived.
Memory foam sleeps hot and wears quickly...as you have already experienced with that mattress you bought at Macy’s.
All of the name brands have been sold to investors, who are using memory foam to recoup their investment and enhance profits.
Heavily advertised brands, like Tempurpedic and Sleep Number, as well as all of the major brands, are upholstered with memory foam.
If you want a mattress to hold up under a big man, memory foam is thee thing to avoid.
My wife and I are, each, over 200 lbs. and I have lots of disc damage in my back.
The mattress we use at home is now over 5 years old.
It remains in like new condition and allows me to sleep and wake without back pain.
