Simmons Beautyrest Black Katrina Mattress is Sagging.

Suzi writes:

Hi Pete,
We bought Simmons Beautyrest Black Katrina mattress.
It is very comfortable, but within a year we started noticing a sag.
We have had it 3 years, now, and the sagging (on each side) is much deeper.
The middle of the mattress is noticeably higher, which makes it difficult to roll over.
We have rotated it every month since we bought it, which doesn't seem to have made a difference in the sagging.
I'm sad that it isn't working out, as it is comfortable, but I can't sleep in a hole.
It was $1950.00 just for the mattress, so one would think it would wear so much longer.

The last bed we had was a Serta double side Hotel quality, we had it for well over 15 years.
It didn't have even a dent in it.
We downsized and had to sell the king as it wouldn't fit in our new cottage.
Otherwise, I believe we would have had it many more years...that's what I'm looking for.
Thanks, Suzi

Hi Suzi,
The memory foam in your mattress is what’s causing the sagging.
Your old Serta didn’t have any memory foam in it.
Today, all of the name brands are using memory foam.
All of the name brands have been sold to investors.
In fact, the investment group that bought Simmons also owns Serta.
Here is a link to an old-fashioned two-sided mattress with no memory foam in it.

Shipping is free and there's no sales tax.

We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.

Thanks, Pete
