Looking to Replace a 13 Year Old Serta Plush Pillowtop Mattress.

Hi Pete,
We are looking to replace a 13 year old Serta king plush pillowtop that is only just now a little less plush.
My husband and I are side and back sleepers (mostly side).
I weigh 155 lbs at 5' 3" and my husband is 206 lbs at 6 ft.
We have looked into two mattresses:
The Serta Trelleburg II plush pillowtop.
The Sealy Posturepedic Response Premium Goldrick cushion firm pillowtop.
We want to know if you have any advice for us as to which would be the best bet for comfort.
We have also seen advertised the Saatva luxury firm pillowtop.
But, we're not sure whether it's as good as the two name brands.
Thanks, Darleen
Hi Darleen,
Since you last purchased a mattress, all of the name brands have been sold.
Today, they are all upholstered with memory foam.
Your mattress has no memory foam in it, which is why it wore so well.
Memory foam is specially designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.

My advice is to avoid all those brand names that you could, at one time, rely on to make a quality mattress.
Their quality has reduced dramatically, over the past 10 years.
Also, you want to avoid any mattress upholstered with memory foam.

Your question, as posed, assumes quality that simply does not exist from those brands.

VERY IMPORTANT:
Keeping your mattress clean and dry will increase longevity.
Use our Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector.
Thanks, Pete
