Will My Current Mattress Work with an Adjustable Bed Base?

Sam's Club advice is to call the manufacturer to see if it will work with their adjustable bed base.

Hi Nella,
The link I found for Lady Americana Mattress was in Vietnam.

The thing that prevents a mattress from use with an adjustable bed base, is a heavy border wire.
That border wire runs around the perimeter of the mattress...one around the top and one around the bottom.

Today, it’s extremely rare to find a mattress still using those.
Most have a foam encased edge, so that they can be used on an adjustable bed base.

Without the information from that factory about your particular mattress, you can see for yourself.
A strong hand can feel into the edge of the mattress...feeling for that heavy wire.
Also, if you can bend the mattress easily, it’s unlikely to have that wire.

Hello Peter,
Thank you for that amazingly quick response! 
I did fail to mention that the mattress is a pillow top, but it seems that probably doesn’t matter. 
There is definitely no heavy border wire around the top or bottom perimeters. 
The top and bottom of the mattress have edges encased in something soft, which I would assume is foam. 
Finally, even with the attached pillow top part of the mattress, it seems to bend easily enough. 
I REALLY appreciate your help on this and even more so, my husband thanks you. 
He has Parkinson Disease with escalating issues and we really need to act on this purchase as soon as possible.
