A Mattress Set for Our 2 1/2 Year Old Son.

I need to buy a mattress set for our 2 1/2 year old son. 
I would like something that will be comfortable for a toddler, that will last a while. 
And, it needs to be able to accommodate one of his parents laying down with him occasionally.

Good Morning Kim,
There are 3 good options.
The best, and most expensive...an all latex mattress, which will last so long, he’ll be able to take it with him to his first apartment.
And he'll rue the day he discarded it for the first mattress he buys. (You’d be surprised how often that happens).

The next option is a Simmons Beautyrest mattress and a latex topper, which should last until it’s time for college. (Depending on body weight).

Third is the least expensive...an old fashioned two sided mattress.
This should last just as long, but needs to be purchased piecemeal.

The first and second options come with white glove delivery.
The third is a mattress only, which arrives UPS.
A good boxspring for that can be purchased at Costco at a very reasonable price.

Latex is clearly the best option. But, most people won't spend that much.

Now, the first two come as sets. The third does not.
The Wolf mattress has a platform bed available to use with it.
However, good quality Sealy boxsprings can be had for cheap at Costco.
The third option requires a bit of work on your end, but is clearly the best value.

All three option provide excellent contouring support that will maintain the natural alignment of your son's spine. 
What's more, this type of support will continue to do so as he grows. (Most Important)
All three will do everything you asked for.
