Mattress Comparable to Simmons Beautyrest World Class Paris Plush

Hi Pete,
I’ve been reading your blog and searching the internet for a mattress comparable to Simmons Beautyrest World Class Paris Plush.
I purchased this mattress in 2008 and still love it.
I need to get a new bed because I need additional bedroom furniture and my old mattress is going into the guest room for now.

Do you have any recommendations for a 2019 mattress?
I paid $1,500 for the Simmons brand and hoping to stay around that range.
I sometimes have low back pain and the Simmons Beautyrest WC Paris Plush helped me tremendously.
I can’t believe they no longer make this model. 😫

Any guidance is appreciated,
Angela

Good Morning Angela,
Simmons was sold to an investment group, that also bought Serta,
As of January 2016, all of the upholstery used in the regular Simmons Beautyrest lines is memory foam.
The purpose of the memory foam is to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
Yours lasted as long as it did, because it has no memory foam in it.

The World Class Series was replaced with the Platinum Series.
What makes the Simmons Beautyrest so comfortable, is the pre-compressed individually pocketed coils...all moving independently from one another.
This type of coil system provides contouring support that pushes up against your spine and maintains its natural alignment.
THAT is still true of today's Simmons Beautyrest mattresses. But with all that memory foam, a Plush Beautyrest doesn't last more than a year.
If you research reviews online about Simmons Beautyrest mattresses, you'll find that they are horrible....mostly about the plush and plush pillowtop models.
And, you can forget about prevailing in a warranty claim, anymore. The memory foam negates that.

Simmons is unique in the way the change a mattress from firm to plush.
Most other brands change the upholstery material...using firmer or softer padding.
Simmons uses the same upholstery and changes the gauge of wire used to make the coils.
The gauge of wire is very thin in their plush models. This was ok when the upholstery material was high quality.
But now that their using memory foam, which is very low quality, the coils in the plush models loses their shape very quickly.
Hence all the bad reviews.

We have eliminated all of the plush and pillowtop models from the Simmons Beautyrests that we offer, for the reasons previously stated.
What we recommend is a Luxury Firm Beautyrest, which has the stronger coils and adding a 2" Soft Latex topper instead of a pillowtop.
Latex is the highest quality upholstery material, and has been so for the last 100 years. Soft Talalay Latex is the most comfortable.
Latex is best, not only for the extraordinary surface comfort it provides, but also for it's resiliency.
The latex topper will absorb most to all of your body weight, causing the mattress to last far longer than intended...longer than yours did.

The recommendation is for a Simmons Beautyrest Platinum Gibson Grove Luxury Firm Mattress.
And, an EverEden 2" Pure, All Natural Soft Talalay Latex Topper to go on it.
Here are links to both products:

The mattress comes with white glove delivery, which includes removal of your old mattress.
The latex topper arrives via UPS.
Delivery, for both items, is free and there's no sales tax.

Thanks, Pete
