What makes a Beautyrest so comfortable is the individually pocketed coil system, where the coils all move independently from one another.
A plush Beautyrest uses a very thin gauge wire coil, which creates a greater depth of softness.
At average weight, the plush models almost always end up with a warranty claim.
For this reason, we have not included any of their plush models on our website.
For a man the size of your husband, a plush Beautyrest is an absolute mistake waiting to happen.
To benefit from the contouring support of the coil system and have it be strong enough to hold up under such a large man, we suggest starting with the Simmons Beautyrest Black Calista, which is an extra firm mattress.
Half of the coils, (every other row), consists of three wires twisted together, as you would imagine a cable wire to look like.
In fact, it's called a "cable coil" and is the strongest of all the Simmons Beautyrest mattresses made.
Add to that, an EverEden Pure, All Natural 2" Soft Vytex Dunlop Latex Topper to soften the surface. You two will be good to go for quite some time.
Unlike the poly foam and memory foam used in today's mattresses, latex foam is much more resilient.
Latex foam is and has been the very best upholstery material available for the last 100 years, or so.
There is nothing else that comes close to it's comfort, performance or durability.
