The difference between those two mattresses is in the over-all firmness.
The Calista extra firm is recommended for it's stiffness, which may be needed for those with more severe disc related back problems, or for those who are carrying a good amount of excess body weight.
For most folks, the recommendation is for the Desiree luxury firm...providing good firm support, but not stiff in it's feel.
This is particularly useful to females, who tend to be curvier than males....especially if they are side sleepers.
