Our Mattress is Good For Me, But Too Firm For My Wife.

My wife and I are opposites, when it comes to preference on mattress firmness.  I prefer as firm as can be, and she prefers a soft bed.  
Our current mattress is a traditional coil spring, and very firm.

But, it has caused her to not sleep well for the past couple of years due to the firmness.  
We are both average built.  
We are researching mattresses and even popped in a local store to try out some of the "comforpedic" mattresses.  
I forget the name of the one recommended, but it was the 2nd most firm comforpedic offered. 
Since it has the memory foam, it did not feel to firm for my wife.  
I noticed a comment from someone saying the Comforpedic made them feel hot, and caused all sorts of additional back/knee/shoulder issues.  
What would you recommend to my wife and me, considering the information i have provided?
