My 1 Year Old Memory Foam Mattress has a Hump Up the Middle.

Kevin writes:

Hi Peter,
I have a memory foam king size mattress that is only 1 year old.
There has developed, a hump up the middle of the mattress.
Should I do the quarter turn thing?...Get a latex topper?...Put something in between on the dipping side?
Your help is appreciated, Kevin

Hi Kevin,
The problem with your mattress is common with memory foam.
Quarter turning a king mattress is something you can do to insure that the mattress wears evenly.
However, the best way to do that is every month right from the beginning when it’s still new, to prevent what has happened to yours.
You can try it now, but I suspect laying across the hump will be uncomfortable.
It costs nothing to find out...making it the first thing to try.

A latex topper added to the top of the mattress, will simply conform to the waves in the mattress.

If quarter turning the mattress doesn’t produce the desired comfort, then the best long term solution is to buy a latex topper.
An EverEden All Natural 2” Soft Talalay Latex Topper, would be the one to get.
When it arrives, flip the mattress over to the firmer poly foam side and add the topper.
You can order that topper through this link.
