I'm 30, 5'4, weigh 155 and suffer from bulging discs in my low back, sciatica, SI Joint Dysfunction which causes hip pain.

30 years old, and with so many problems! I wouldn't be surprised if it was the water bed that helped all this along.
What a water bed, air and foam mattresses have in common, is that they don't provide any kind of "push back support" for your spine.
All rely on displacement, which is the worst kind of support...often causing back problems when slept on long enough.
And when those back problems already exist, they make them worse.
